Leading into the Future
Guided by Science Fiction Leadership Stories
Imagine what leadership could become…
Leading into the Future blends visionary science fiction with real-world leadership insights to reimagine how we lead, collaborate, and grow.
Each chapter begins with a story set in a vividly imagined future, a mission guided by advanced AI, an alien culture powered by recognition, a space station where trust must be built across cultures. These stories act as thought experiments, opening new perspectives on human-centered leadership.
From there, the book returns to today’s workplace, connecting vision to practical action. You will learn how to lead with a vision, avoid micromanagement, build strong and effective teams, recognize and empower people, and navigate the future of work with clarity and purpose.
Come on a journey to explore what leadership could become and how you can shape it today.

Recognition in Tough Times Matters Most
This came up in a conversation today, and I can’t stop thinking about it.
Why is it that during times of cost pressure, crisis, or underperformance, recognition so often disappears?
As if people’s contributions only deserve to be acknowledged when the numbers are up.
But the reality is:
➡️ Year-end often means extra workload.
➡️ Many people are walking the extra mile.
➡️ The pressure is high — and so is the effort.
What if we chose to recognize our teams even when things are tough?
Leadership Inspirations from Pike Place Market (Reloaded)
I just came back from a business trip to Seattle and had the chance to walk through the city center for a bit including a visit to Pike Place Market. I didn’t see any flying fish, but it was still a great atmosphere!
Being there reminded me of a book I read many years ago:
FISH! A Proven Way to Boost Morale and Improve Results
Motivated by the location, I decided to give the audiobook another listen. And the content still holds up…
Harmonize, don’t Homogenize
I am a strong believer in standardization and harmonized processes as they lead to consistency, efficiency, and scalability. All essential for a productive, healthy business.
➜ But not at all cost.
Harmonization should never become a goal in itself.
When we streamline everything too far, we risk ironing out the very differences that make our customers happy…

My Book Writing and Publishing Journey...
Why Leadership and Science Fiction Are a Great Fit
When I first had the idea to mix leadership insights with science fiction, it raised a few eyebrows. I myself thought it was a crazy idea… until it wasn’t. The more I explored it, the more it started to make sense.
By imagining a future where today’s barriers no longer exist, we can amplify leadership principles and see what they really look like in action without all the noise and obstacles of the real world.
Science fiction allows us to stretch ideas to their limits, play with extremes, and shift our perspective. Instead of starting with problems, we start with possibilities.
Just like the image, the book lives at the intersection of corporate reality and imagined futures. It uses science fiction short stories to illustrate leadership concepts, that are discussed in the nonfiction sections of the book.
And yes, there’s a starship or two involved.
But more importantly, there’s a mission: to inspire better leadership.
Mission accomplished! My book is published!
What started as a crazy idea, blending my two passions of leadership and science fiction, has turned into a real book.
After a year of writing, editing, and hundreds of cups of tea, I finally pressed “Publish.”
“Leading into the Future” is now available. It is a book for everyone who believes leadership can be better, more empathetic, and more visionary.
None of this would have been possible without all of you who liked my posts, discussed ideas, gave feedback, encouraged me, and believed in the vision. Thank you for being part of this journey.
I would be so happy if people actually started reading it now…
I cannot wait to hear what you think.

The Best Team Wins
Very good overview on how to create well performing teams. I read also several other books of these authors and this is taking the concepts and puts them together into “Five Disciplines of Team Leaders” that are very helpful.
Everything is Tuberculosis
This was such an eye-opening read. The book grabbed me from the very first page, and I couldn’t put it down. It is disturbing how little I actually knew about tuberculosis until now.
